Johnson & Johnson Statement on Yandell Case

June 15, 2026 - Attributable to Erik Haas, Worldwide Vice President of Litigation, Johnson & Johnson:

“As with the defense verdicts rendered in Oklahoma and Los Angeles, yet another jury has seen through the plaintiff lawyers’ farcical claims, which are refuted by decades of scientific research that show Johnson’s Baby Powder is safe, does not contain asbestos and does not cause cancer.

“Plaintiff lawyers financed junk science to further this litigation in pursuit of jackpot verdicts to line their own pockets. This plaintiff lawyer playbook has been exposed in litigation against so-called plaintiff ‘experts’ who have authored fraudulent medical articles asserting that talc causes cancer. (More on these cases here and here.)

“Courts have begun to take action to address the egregious conduct by the plaintiffs’ lawyers that drive this litigation, recently disqualifying leading plaintiffs’ firm, Beasley Allen, for its unethical conduct that put its own financial interests ahead of its clients.

“We are appreciative of the effort and attentiveness of the jurors that refused to adopt the plaintiff lawyers’ false narrative.”
