Johnson & Johnson Statement on Win in Pennsylvania Court of Appeals

May 28, 2026 - Attributable to Erik Haas, Worldwide Vice President of Litigation, Johnson & Johnson:

“We appreciate the Pennsylvania Court of Appeal’s time and attention to this matter. As recited in the Court’s well-reasoned decision, plaintiffs failed to ‘provide any basis for reversal’ of the jury’s determination that Johnson’s Baby Powder is safe, does not contain asbestos, and does not cause cancer.

“As has been evident from the outset, this lawsuit and the entire talc litigation has never been about serving the plaintiffs, nor about finding the truth — it has always been about plaintiff lawyers using junk science to chase jackpot verdicts to line their own pockets. Tellingly, multiple courts around the country have disqualified Beasley Allen, the plaintiffs’ counsel in this matter, for knowing, deliberate, and egregious unethical conduct that harmed Johnson & Johnson, claimants, and the integrity of the judicial process.”
